Hi there,

I need some help about my *new* Vilh Pedersen VP00 milling machine, well I can't find any documentation so I am inspecting and cleaning the gearbox, everything is going fine but oil was some kind of thick gear oil maybe an 70 or 80, I am not sure if it is the good one, for my other machines is recommended SAE30, there are also two other small gearboxes for carriage advance, the oil inside is maybe a 40 or 50.

So where could I find some info about this milling?

Can you advice about oil?

Have a nice day.

You're right....there's not much info out there for that make!

A few manuals here:
https://store.lathes.co.uk/pedersen
......but not your model and not cheap.

One thing I saw repeated was that the bolts are "special" Whitworth threads and metric heads.

Sorry, no answer to your question though......

Wow! interesting, by now I have just replaced some missing bolts from motor base,I put M8 and they just bolt right in, the covers bolts looks metric too, may be the bigger ones are special, I dismantled the machine to move it to my basement but about bolts I just put them back headlong, that would be interesting to test the thread.
