Old time drill sharpening?

Something tells me it is not his first day on the job. I do find it interesting that he is thinning the web so far back. I only touch the web when resharpening a broken bit. Is that called a tool room grinder?

Ooh, I think I'm gonna need this service! I just picked up a new drill sharpener an hr ago but it won't do that! :D
I didn't even know sharpening flutes was a thing. Do they really still do that?

I think what is going on is polishing the flutes, not sharpening them, it allows chips to flow out with less resistance.

Maybe but if he is polishing he doesn't appear to be using any polishing compound based on the lack of any splatter!

I think John pegged it- nobody can grind flutes by hand, you'd have to be android Bishop from Aliens

He's doing it all wrong!

He should be squinting... for safety!
