i have a prentiss vise (free to me) it is a bulldog 4 - 1/2 in on the side is a recess with 525 in a oval. beside that is 515 over 525 in a recessed circle. also a NY manufacture. i cannot find any information or value of this particular model. any help??

Prentiss vises are one of the brands people seem to love or hate. I like the styling of them, but have seen many with cracked slides and they tend to be a bit lighter for any given jaw width than many other brands. As far as value goes, it could be anywhere from $25 to $350 depending on condition. Any sort of damage or missing parts totally kills the value as replacement parts are generally not available other than getting lucky and finding parts on eBay.
