One piston no displacer with a vent port hot air engine

Hi Andries
That look's like a busy little engine. Are you still having trouble with your cast iron finish? What's the dia.? Maybe .75 or 20 mm inside dia. I think you said you were using a boring bar and insert.Cast Iron doesn't like positive rake too much. Pretty much even, do you have good clearance for the chips and of coarse it's gotta be solid. Just kinda guessing at it. Sometimes the answer is really simple. Go back over your set up step by step.Cast iron is pretty much free machining (no lubricant). I'm sure you'll get a few more suggestions and one of them will be your answer if you still need one. Keep those pics comin they're fun to watch. I once was accused of being a "Hot air machine"

Nice flame-eater. Thanks for posting.

I see you are playing with LTD Stirlings. The one in the video is a HTD Stirling. I would love to see some of your LTD models as I have been working on various LTD designs for a few years. Any photos?
