Oxidation of Steel From Brazing

Is there anything I can coat steel/stainless with before high temperature brazing to prevent discoloration or oxidation? This can be hard to clean up on geometrically complex parts. If not, what is the best pickling agent for stainless steel? In the jewelry world you can use Cupronil to shield silver and you do the pickling with hot acid. Can I use muriatic or sulfuric acid to clean stainless? I am concerned it will turn it grey.

Interesting. Could I just use an electrolytic bath on stainless steel like I do for rust removal?

I think it would be worth a try. I would make up a sample piece to try first though.
