Phase II arbor press: how is the pinion attached? Press fit, or ??

There is a Phase II 260-101 arbor press for sale that has has paint splattered all over it. If I buy it, I'd want to repaint it. How hard is it to disassemble the parts to an arbor press? Is the pinion pressed in or it it just slipped in? It appears to have a pinion retainer, but I'm not sure how tight any of this fits.

Is Phase II a decent brand of arbor press?

I didn't have a Phase II brand but I used to have one just like it. On the left side it's just a ring that holds onto the pinion with a set screw. Remove that & the pinion slides right out. Nothing is pressed together, the entire press comes apart very easily.
