I see what bump and scissors straight and 30 degree angle knurlers are, in 1 -2 and 3 wheel setups. I see that many 2 wheelers have opposite cut angle wheels, so in eseence they are 1 wheelers, but with any of the 1-2-3 wheelers, how does that single pattern cut in and repeat itself ? Looking at gear teeth, they have to be calculated and made so that there are no half teeth, which knurling surely would create.

Keep in mind that you can use angled knurls to cut straight knurls too. Here is a quick tool I hacked together for a thumb screw project I was working on recently. You will notice that the knurl touches the work horizontally.

Good thinking. I have an idea to build a 4 wheel clamping unit that will do 1/2 inch to 5 inches. Stay tuned. Speed knurling.
