POTD- PROJECT OF THE DAY: What Did You Make In Your Shop Today?

Ah nice, one of those transformer motor cycles. ;) Mike
Yes Sir! Inexpensive adventure bike alternative to trash in the trails as I learn how to do light off-roading on a motorcycle.

In a few weeks I want to tackle the Ocala National Forest trails… lots of sand, that is going to be interesting for this newbie…

Well... video should work now... sorry, I was tired and with wine in hand...
what was the purpose of changing the cam, more torque, more low end, high end???? enquiring minds want to know. I don't know anything about the Royal Enfield.

All of the above… also adds 5 hp. Stock is 24hp/24 ft-lbs of torque. Does not win any races but it can go up over almost anything with all my camping gear…. Very simple single cylinder engine.

I wanted it to give it just a little bit more power. This is the most cost effective modification to make for that.

I replaced my top heavy, and too tall for me, BMW F 850 GSA with this…

Is that an inline 6?

We have an old continental 6 as the power plant for a sawmill. Not sure of the model or displacement. It purrs along like it did when I remember my grandfather running it 30+ years ago. It was probably pretty old then.
In-line L head 4 cylinder. Out of an old Lincoln welder. Ran good until the wind blew open the flap on the exhaust for a couple years. #1 cylinder is pretty bad. I am going to mount it in the mill and hone the cylinders and see where we are. If it’s out of spec, oversized pistons are available. Then we will bore it to match new pistons.

Painting the roses red, time to pick this mess up again. Crashed cross slide and no longer available from Clausing. Little chance of getting scraped back into shape so on to plan B.

Richard King had predicted that there would be some swelling associated with the welding area and was correct.
Plan is to work the swollen area with a hard Arkansas stone some to reduce the hump.

Dark spots on top match the gib adjustment screw holes. Was surprised that the drill/tap process would deformed the surface enough to show

More to come

/\/\/\ That didn't go well . My 36" blade was dull , tried to sharpen it , no luck . I stuck the 28" bar on and grabbed the chain which I thought was un-used . Dull as heck . I gave up and will wait for Jacks to open tomorrow .

That's good, you needed a break. It wouldn't sharpen? that far gone?

Picked up an old project that has been sitting a long time.
Got the hinge made, pinned, and it feels good to get something started again. Had to remake my drawbar, the joint broke where it screws together. Also rebuilt my power draw bar (butterfly impact driver).
