Pretty sure I need a mill part 2 cleanup

, can’t see a reason for grease on the column or rail.

I think it's best to use a light oil on the column as I think the heavy oil I had on my old rf25 was at least partially responsible for me over tightening the bolts to get it to stay still when milling and this is how I opened up a crack in the head casting.

Wow!
At some point yes!
But first I need to finish moving and build out the new space. vision is a bench along this wall that wraps around.

the mill will go into area between the gap in the ductwork as the wall wraps around.
maybe December if I’m lucky

Most impressive! Thanks for the detailed documentation!

Things go back together fairly easily. Gave the interior a good spray of corrosionX and used a small amount of synthetic grease on the spindle gear.

table is next up

I just got a new to me RF30 , I was surprised that it didn't have oil ports for the ways like my rf25 had.

Have you got any ball oilers type things on the table ?

Stu
I found a ball oiler on the table, you can see it in the second to last picture above!
