I was looking at that also. Realized they're China made not Taiwan. Still thinking. Surprised they have twice the clamping force as these.

I have been looking at the Yost vises for a while. A recent development is the switch to ductile iron rather than forged steel. This may allow for the increase in clamping force.

I was reading that the Yost vises have some sort of goofy clip and spring on the jaw that breaks or jams ? One person (on another site) actually got so fed up with the vise and the company's service that he tossed the vise in the trash and bought something else
I wish I could find a decent inexpensive vise, I'm open to suggestions
