I've been posting various messages on the threads of other people's posts and decided to start my own. I'm starting this posting after having received my machine less than a week ago. For those interested in seeing my prior comments, just do a search under my name Apostle10.

The variable speed drive mechanism was pretty much frozen so I removed it today. The problem was it was full of crud and hardened grease. I scraped, greased and oiled as I turned the input shaft and speed chain sprocket. If finally unfroze. Here are some photos showing the unit. It was made by the "Worthington Corporation," and called an Allspeed drive.

Glad you got it unstuck. It actually looks to be in nice shape! I look forward to seeing your progress Mike.
