Hi all i need a home made quick change tool post made for my Derbyshire Lathe i can get you a picture or two of designs ideas of other types. I would like atleast 3 holders to start to go with the post. Im hoping it wont be really expensive. Ive looked at OXA post but i think its going to be to big for a lathe the size of a Unimat or Derbyshire.

Very cute! I see how the first one works, but can't see the second gold colored one that clearly. Do they both use the same pinch principle?

@brino Dell and i have talked lol i was tempted to get it but seeing how money is tight im gonna go with a simpler version.

FWIW, if it were me, I'd get one of these: https://ebay.us/EXr6tg

I love that style of tool holder (though $300 might be a tough buy), and at the same price as the sherline kit it seems like a great deal comparatively.

On the shirline it isn't clear what the tensioning method is though...

I haven't done shop time in a while, but could make one reasonably in the next few months, I have to get through some other things on the honey-do list first though :) So if you can make some plans for something in t he next while, I could make something for 2x materials cost (my typical rate, it tends to be fair for those who can't hang out wiht me and drink beer :) ).

I may one day build on the little tool post the came with the lathe but for now i think ill be happy with what he comes up with.
