Today I got to sneak in some shop time netween the honey doos and the chores.
I got the shaft done, and the bevel cut.
I also pecked a 5/16" hole all the way through to help disapate heat and not let dust or debis get trapped under the draw bolt. Really cause I have a lathe and I can!

Now it needs a stub tenon and some threads, along with a tapped draw bolt hole (i know I should have done that before the taper) and it will be a done deal.

I got some shop time in last night and got to driil and tap the drawbolt threads.
I bought a spiral point tap to see if it was as good as it has been made out to be.
WOW! I will never buy a conventional tap again. This was the second attempt to power tap and it went flawlessly! The first attempt ended in a bound tap, and a piece of scrap.

I flipped it around and turned my thread tenon down to size. Now I have to find my fishtail and grind a threading tool.
