Looking for a R8 end mill holder with a 12MM bore. Any ideas where to get one?

I have had no luck in finding one here in the US. I have one located in the UK at ArcEuroTrade and perhaps that is the best option at ~$35 (Handling and Carriage included) but thought I'd ask here first.

EDIT: This is a Weldon type holder that I am looking for.

UD, sorry that I was not explicit enough.

I am looking for a Weldon type end mill holder with a 12mm bore. I have 12mm R8's but need a Weldon type as well.

I had not checked LMS but did a moment ago - no luck.

I had checked Shars. They have Imperial but not metric. Here's a snippet from their catalog:

DAT, thanks. Yes, that's the one I referred in the first post to kick this thread off as the UK sourced option at a delivered cost of about $35. BTW, this is certainly a Chinese made tool but the other items that I have bought from Arc in the past are okay. They seem to have some decent control over their suppliers.

Meanwhile I will continue to search a bit for what else is available.

Across the pond they are called Side Lock Holder R8 12mm

An alternative would be to use a 12mm ER32 or ER40 collet with an R8 holder. Shar's has some reasonably priced nickle plated R8 ER32 that specs at something like 0.0001" TIR. Would probably be more accurate than a end mill holder. That is what I use to setup my Haimer edge finder.

Thanks Mark, As you have probably guessed, I am considering this for my Haimer. The idea is to put the Haimer in it, calibrate it with it in the holder, and not remove it. I am tired of the Haimer wanting to drop out of the R8 collet as I remove it from the mill. As you have experienced, those little ceramic tips get expensive when you break them.

I considered a spring collet too but thought it would add too much length. BTW, the concept of using a Weldon adds significant length as compared to the R8 collet approach.

I searched at Rotagrip and couldn't find anything so thanks for sharing the proper vernacular! You are the "search" expert for sure. Looks like the Rotagrip version is shorter than the ArcEuro.

The XYZ must not be Asian in origin. The cost says so anyway.

I have also wondered if there is some sort of a retaining system that could hold the R8 collet and the Haimer together. In other words semi permanently mount an R8 to the Haimer. I have considered trying to put a pin in the assembly somehow.

A smaller ER collet would probably be similar to an end mill collet in overall length, although you may be able to find a single screw instead of double lock screw. ER collet system probably has the least amount of TIR vs. end mill holder. Not sure if you could turn down an end mill holder to make it shorter, they are hardened and burn up tooling fast. Recently tapped some holes in one and burned up some drills. I would suggest if you are looking for something more permanent, then maybe an ER-20 or ER-25 R8 arbor and a 12mm collet. Showa and Glacern are Taiwanese ER collet chucks decent price and specs. Probably better than an R8 collet, although I have both and I would say they are close (like withing 0.0001" using high quality collets).

If you are primarily using R8 collets then some fixed holder for the Haimer may be warranted. I use CNC type chucks with integrated R8 shanks, so the Haimer goes in and out of the chuck. I really dislike using it directly in a 12mm R8 collet, seem more prone to the fumbles.
