I just listed a shell mill, when I discovered these years ago I never picked up a flycutter again. But they cost a bundle if you get all the inserts and such. This one has a set of brand new inserts, and new hardware. It does have a Shars shank but it's brand new, and I did a pass on aluminum - perfect surface. See pics on eBay.

It would be great for the hobby machinist since it's good for aluminum on a Bridgeport or anything with an R8. But might not be able to hog steel as though it was in a big mill, 4" diameter is big!

This is up for $240 but I'll sell it for $200 if you mention Hobby Machinist. I have both the CCW and the CW versions, your choice - but the CW is used and a little banged up. That is the one I did the test cut with however. The CCW one is clean and maybe never used. Sandvik inserts are for K, N, S - Cast Iron, Aluminum and Heat-Resistant Alloys.

Makes me wish I had a Bridgeport!
