Ok, I know this will only apply to a small number of people here, but the regional forums seem to be down and who knows maybe somebody is coming to California next month and would be interested.
The Redwood Region Logging Conference is an annual event, that rotates between Ukiah, CA and Eureka, CA (even years Ukiah, odd years Eureka).
March 15-17th, 2018 it will be held at the Redwood Empire Fairgrounds in Ukiah, CA
The event has vendors displaying (and selling) their wares, as well as numerous demonstrations. Probably of most interest to this group is the historical displays of old logging and milling equipment, trucks, and steam engines.
Redwood Region Logging Conference
This is also usually one of the larger showings for the Roots of Motive Power collection of antique trucks and steam equipment since they are based out of Willits, only 20 miles away.
The Roots of Motive Power
Fort Humboldt State Park also usually brings down a small logging train and sets up track so they can give rides.
If you like trains make it a weekend and ride the Skunk train through the redwoods. The Willits station is about 30 minutes north of Ukiah.
Skunk Train
and a little eye candy from past years events
