I am very pleased with the condition of the table ways on the grinder and on the table.
I am in the process of replacing all the Bijur metering valves.
The trick is accessing the metering manifolds.
Anyone done this job recently?
Thanks

Yes that looks very nice good score. Looks clean. I just picked up a new to me SG, shop was very clean where I got it from. I was amazed at the amount and size of swarf in voids of the saddle. There was a big horizontal mill to the right of it and must of showered my machine.

I removed the access panels/covers.
Look what I found!
Now I can clean up the areas that need attention, replace all the Bijur metering valves, reassemble and start working on the coolant system. I bought a Little Giant pump, just need to fabricate a reservoir and plumb it.
Now, I’m no expert on these things but I do know a little bit about old iron. This grinder seems to be in great shape!!

I'm going to let you get plenty of practice then ship mine out to you ! :big grin:

Nice machine. You could just put your metering orifices in an ultrasonic cleaner, or just soak them in lacquer thinner and blow them out with compressed air, and they should be just fine. Mike

Oh now you tell me. I have a package of 16 assorted, new old stock metering valves from 0-5.
I will try to blow out the lines which are many.

I don't know what size or how many you are looking for. but there are several new ones on eBay for between $5.00 and $10.00 each. H&W Machine repair has all sizes available for $14.00 to $15.00 each

From bijur, they are $14.00 each, and I need a fitting for 8$ for each so for 11 bijurs around $250, plus 40$ shipping or 360$ in canuck pesos...
like I said, $$$ (I also need to buy tubing and tubing fittings...) The price and the extensive line (much of which is incompatible with each other) has me holding back - I need to be very sure before I place my order...
