This is a Ka-Bar riggers knife . Got it off the Bay for like a dollar , it was in sad shape one of the scales was missing and someone had tried sharpen it with a bench grinder ! Fortunately they stopped before it was to late . The original scales were Walnut (I think) I made new ones from Corian tile faux Ivory, made a new guard and the pins . I found a sheath , and I made the marline spike . The most money I have in it are the pliers/adjustable wrench . One of these days I will try my hand at scrimshaw . Hope you enjoy the pics .

That is defiantly a good job you cannot tell the prior owner had messed it up so much. I think the faux Ivory is nice but I was thinking it may not have the same grip as the wood one did, but should last longer. Again nice work.

an old friend of mine was the chief engineer at Diamond Tool and Horseshoe and was the inventor of the "ski-plier". i have a couple of them myself. nice job on both he knife and sheath.

Thanks for the complements guys . Wood is prolly better for the handle . I had a wood handled Ka-Bar Rigger and it did have a nice feel to it . The sheath is actually a original Ka-Bar and the strap to hold the pliers is original too , as you could buy knife , spike and pliers as a set .
David , that's interesting "ski-pliers " I never heard that . I have seen them marked Diamond , mine is marked Ka-Bar .
