That sounds like a plan. I need to make a run to the boneyard soon to get something for the Caddy.
Might you know of a specific make/type? I just did a search and browsed the images and it mostly showed seat belt sensors and some elaborate stuff.

I hated my seat sensor. Go 50 feet...restart. Go 50 feet...restart. It would make a lot more sense to make them so they can be disabled temporarily.

I have considered installing a boat-style safety cutoff.

I think the problem is that cutoff switches are designed by lawyers, not engineers.
