Ok guys I'm in the process of working up information on a cut rifling cutter for a 50-110 winchester with the intent of making and rifling said barrel. I have a boring and rifling machine. I've also made my first cutter body for housing the cutter.

I'm looking for info and or ideas for the dimensions for the cutter. I've attached a couple of pictures of my first cutter body and a sketch of the cutter. I'm looking for info or ideas on the dimensions of the areas labeled A,B,C,D and E or any other ideas you may have or maybe you can point me to a book or article on these and other caliber cutter head dimensions.

I would be appreciative of all info and input on my endeavor.

Would like to see your machine in operation. Please post pictures when it's up and running. Thanks

That more than likely won't be until july or so, I'm easing into this and limited by a tight budget. Looking for info at this point.

Trying to connect with anyone who has actually made a cutter or who has any info to share. Surely someone has done this before.

I have a pencil sketch somewhere. It will take some time to find it.

Not what you asked for but I think I have a 50 cal deep hole drill if you can use it. LMK if interested and I will mic it up and measure the length

Thanks for the offer Seasick....I'll wait and buy one at .494 or .496 come the first. That'll give me 006-.004 to ream.

You know one would think there would be more info out there on dimensions for cutters and different calibers. My head is swimming from being on the internet all day and not coming up with anything concrete.

Pierre if you come across that sketch post if you can

Here's what I'm thinking so far:
A. 2 inches
B. .165"
C. .165"
D. .125"

Any input here would be appreciated, or if you could point me in a direction.
