I purchased a trunk at a garage sale last fall and found a few items that I was unable to identify until I cleaned them up a little. I believe I found a tailstock, a cross sled and a chuck. I was looking for information to what machine and also if they had any value to the parts.

  • On the tailstock I found a few identifying numbers on the bottom. There was a number 8 and also 6/9 depending on how you are looking at it.
  • The cross sled has the name Rivett and under it G5330.
  • The chuck is about 6" in diameter and has the numbers 83613 written on the back.
Any help in identifying the parts is appreciated. The pictures where taken after I cleaned them up. They where pretty dirty when I got them.

thank you. the tailstock looks pretty similar to the No. 2 morse taper tailstock and the slide rest looks the same as well. Any idea if there is a market for these parts ? Thanks in advance

There's a market for everything.
The compound assembly is a very nice piece and adaptable to many lathes, not just Rivett.
