Hey Rockwell owners,
I have an 11" Delta (Rockwell) lathe which I have used for several years, but never fixed the variable speed indicator inside works which move what's on front of the cabinet. This is a hand wheel rather than a lever changer. I cannot find a pix of the mechanism which connects to whatever inside the cabinet..I know I will have to make whatever it is, but do not know that to make! I will try to post a pix of what is there, but it appears that a worm shaft and its connection to the variable works is missing. Any pics of that connection works would be appreciated.
Thanks

Yea, my whole connection and reeves drive is all there and intact, I just checked. No belt, but I don't think you need that.

Richl,
Man, just what I needed! I hope you didn't throw your back out getting these pics! Seems I'm missing three parts. I thought from what I had that the gear ran off a worm , but it is a rack! I can make all the parts now.
Thanks for your help--couldn't have known without the pics! This lathe is small, but works well in a home shop.

Mine is 11x24, I really need to get it working. Thanks for giving me a reason to look at her a bit more closely.
It does look like a very straight forward setup for you. If you need anything else, feel free to ask

I have fixed my spindle speed indicator--now I am working on a graphic for the threading chart---the chart on my lathe is unreadable. When new, the chart was all black screenprinted on a silver plate--no red at all. I have found a jpeg of the plate on the web, but cannot read the longitudinal numbers under the thread pitches. Does anyone have such a thread chart and could one post a sharp pix of the chart. When I finish the thread chart graphic, I will post it to this thread for others to use!

I'll be back in the shop tomorrow, I'll check to see what I have. I'll try to cleanup mine and take the best high res pic I can. If mine is in decent shape I can grab a full resolution picture with a digital camera, a Canon 5d mk4 30 megs. If needed.

richl,
From your previous pics, your lathe has the red and black thread chart. Mine has the all black chart. I have completed a graphic of my chart based on some longitudinal feeds which had to be calculated as I could not read the existing chart on my lathe. I will post the chart soon.

Should a member who has a lathe on which a readable thread chart is needed, please post the need and I will attempt to find, replicate and post the needed thread chart as a file. I have gained much from this whole site and am willing to return some value to the site.

Could not see the Delta 11 inch logo either, so my recreation is in homestead's photo album---if you need it.

Well, pardon my blunder----I cannot find any way to add a pic file to my album--it seems that the menu has changed from "photo album" to "Media Galleries" and I cannot upload a pic file. Administrator help, please?

Homestead, go to your album, which at present only contains one photo. Navigation is kinda fonkey. Click Media Gallery, and if your one photo doesn't show up on that screen, then Search Media. Enter homestead in the Posted by: field and click Search. Click on the one photo that shows up, and finally up above just below the upper tool bar you should see the path down to where you are. If the path ends in the file name, click on Album. If it ends in Album, you are OK. To the right you should see Add Media. Click on that and follow the instructions.

Thanks, Robert for your help! From being an IT administrator, I know how it is to get a new software package going. I can get to the album screen and for the life of me, I cannot see how to add a pic---help? Yes, I can and did upload to the 'Download' feature--I put a delta logo under the Rockwell manual section.

James,

To add photos to your Album go to the Media Gallery tab and then navigate to Your Albums. Do not try to add photos from your Profile Page.

Maybe this will help. Select Your Albums and then Add Media far upper right button.

James, you are correct. I will need to get someone with more powers than I to fix this.

Thanks, Randy. Perhaps this info would help--- a few days ago, I asked that a pic be deleted from the homestead gallery--it was.

Randy & James,

I just logged in as Homestead and confirmed that he does not now see the blue background Add Media button. Let me run a couple of more tests and I'll be back.

OK. It is an access issue.

Guests: Can see the Media Gallery tab and browse at least photos (I didn't check videos). Cannot add photos.
Registered User with Swarf default status: Cannot see Media Gallery tab. No access to photos.
Registered User with Iron default status. Same as Guest (can see Media Gallery Tab and browse but not add photos).
Registered User with Premium status. Can see Media Gallery Tab and can add album and photos to his/her album.
Active User with any status other than Premium or Sustaining. I did not check this but probably same as Premium.

I will report this to the Admins. I do not know what was intended other than that #2 is probably wrong.

In the meantime, if you must add a photo, it will apparently cost you $25.00.
