As my mill hasn't arrived, hopefully someone can answer a question.

As the mill has a small base, how stable is it? I have a Atlas/Clausing (Johansson) mill base that was turned into a drill press, while similar in size the base/cabinet on the Atlas seems a lot bigger. Because of the narrowness of the base, I wondering about side to side stability.

What have others done to make it more stable.

The other 2 mills I have are setting on a super heavy duty plastic pallet, with a 1/2" steel plate, fully covering the pallet, sandwiched between the mill and the pallet, with the whole assembly bolted together. Not only are the mills very stable, but this also raises the whole assembly 6" and makes them easily moved with a pallet jack.

Mine is sitting on DriCore, on concrete. No bolts. No problems.

You could bolt or weld 1/2" x 3 " x 4' flat stock under it . I doubt it will tip after that . Or lag it to the floor.

I did the same. Pinball machine feet actually - a whopping $6.50 for a set a 4 from fleabay. I also have 8 of them on my Rockwell 11 Lathe. My garage has a significant slope to it.
