Is there a stop that prevents running the head so high that the rack disengages from the worm gear?

I have a similar machine. On it anyways, the rack is held on by a cap that would disallow running the head up off the column. You could though, if you wanted, remove that cap, and take the head off the column. It’s threaded on.

I misremembered. The rack runs out of teeth. It can’t run off the top because that.
