I bought a Palmgren 6" rotary table.
Looks to be a good one.

My problem is that when turn one of the three slots to align with either "X" or "Y" the scale on the side shows about 3 degrees off.

I can not find a way to adjust it out so I am guessing I need to learn to live with this?

I need to drill 2 holes in a plate 120 degrees to the original hole.

Thank you,
Dale

If it looks like the ones I found on Palmgren's web site, you can unbolt the pointer from the body and slot the holes with a round file (side to side). Rotate the platter so the slot you want is lined up with the intended axis (using an indicator). Then nudge the pointer plate in the correct direction so it now indicates zero and tighten it down.

If it's riveted in place, grind off the rivets, tap the holes and proceed as above.

All of this is assuming you can't just loosen the whole thing and rotate the body - keyed perhaps?
