Model airplane RC hobby shops are also a good source for the ignition parts.
The site below sells kits for the DIY person. I may try one myself someday.
The Chinese sell several Hit-Miss engines and there is one copied from the David Kerzel design.

I think almost every model builder has strayed from the plans some so each engine is unique to the builder.

Thanks for the information. I looked at the photos and I see the one ignition module is a Pegasus CDI. Do you have a model number of the unit? I did a google search for Pegasus CDI ignition and got lots of hits. Most of them were from auto racing web sites.
