So A friend on mine has a South Bend 9. It has the QCGB but no threading dial to be able to cut threads. He purchased a 3D printed unit and wants to know the measurements for the mounting hole. His apron has no hole. Anybody help me out so I can pass the info on to him?

If the qcgb is original to lathe it should have hole..maybe broken off bolt? Hold dial on apron so it engages leadscrew.pivot clear then back to screw..mark spot and drill and tap..

If I had to guess I would say that the lathe originally didn't come with a QCGB and some previous owner added it hence no provision for the threading dial.

You can still figure out where it needs to be.drill and tap for a stud if needed..if using stock pin in dial you're gonna need a threaded hole to intersect so you can put tension on dial..right or wrong it's worked for me .
