Well... I've never seen a spindle like this before. I thought this was an internally tapered spindle (like an R8, MT-2, or JT-3).

It appears to be a JT-33 taper, with the addition of a threaded locking collar?

I suppose there's no way to get an MT-2 accessory to run on this.

I was wanting to get a keyless chuck and tapered fractional bits to about 1-1/2". Looks like I may have to settle for reduced shank. This chuck is only a 1/2". I suppose I could go up to a 5/8" keyless.

Threaded locking collars were common on older US dril presses. Integrated taper spindles are still common today. You don't need to use the threaded collar feature, just put on a chuck that has the same taper as the spindle. In fact I don't think they even make drill chucks anymore these days with the threaded collar feature.

I wouldn't use a keyless chuck with drill bits that large though. That's asking for trouble. Best to not use drills larger than the shank capacity of the keyless chuck. If you really want to use drills that large, I would go with a good keyed chuck.
