I was able to mill a bit over 3/4" off the vise. With a solid stationary jaw I'd take a full inch off. With the vise bolted down in the center table slot this is the Y+ travel limit.
The vise opens approximately 4-5/8" and I can reach just a bit further Y- before the rubber chip apron gets pinched. Obviously the vise could be clamped down anywhere with toe clamps but this will do for 98% of my vise work.
One more pic to share, taken with the FLIR camera in my new Blackview cell phone. I took this after running the mill pretty hard for about an hour at ~1400 rpm cutting on the vise.
