I would vote for a surface grinder. If you are making tools, jigs and fixtures, it makes them more accurate and look better. Mine is a 6 x 18 Parker Majestic manual. Not used ever day but handy when needed. Build your shop as large as possible, it is easy to fill it up and wish it was larger.
