Sharpening LARGE bits with Drill Doctor 750X

This machine has definitely paid for itself sharpening my smaller than 1/2" bits.

However, it seems when I get to 7/16" and above, I struggle to get a sharp bit. I try to sharpen them using the factory angle settings (135) and get no results, they are often worse than they were before I started.

Have you guys had any issues, or any tips for the larger bits, with this machine?

(And yes I know I can do them by hand, but I'd really like to figure out why I am struggling with the larger bits!)

I use 118 on all the larger bits. No problem sharpening or using.

Just double checked the tool catalog. All Silver and Deming large drills and knockoffs are 118 including Metric.

Slightly loosen the collet and carefully turn the drill bit to increase the clearance. I don't have My notes right here with Me so cannot tell you which direction.
