found a sheldon lathe plate says its a ewq model.12 inch by 54 bed langth,comes with some tooling a 6 jaw chuck 4 jaw chuck and a 3 jaw chuck,lathe seems to run very very smooth and very quiet price is 1200.00
i was looking for a southbend 9 or 10 is this lathe the equivalent,i ran southbend and hardinge in the past is this a decent lathe for a home shop thanks dave
 
In comparable condition, its a step up from southbend.
 
My son got his grandfather's 10" Sheldon. He completely restored it. I helped him wire the new drumswitch and his mother helped him lace the new belt(she sews). I seriously doubt that you will ever regret your purchase. Mark

thanks guys ill look at it this weekend,not a smoking deal unless i can get him to throw in the tooling he has for it dave
