Should I attempt changing my watch battery or take it to a jeweler?

I have this expensive watch with a crystal face and the battery is dead. I was talking to a friend and he told me on this watch I should take it to a Jeweler because it takes special tools to get off the back. He also said I will faint when they give me the bill to do it. What do you people think? Thanks Rich
It's a Tissot 1853 Stainless steel if that matters.

Richard, if my memory serves me right your watch has a solid back. I think the process involves removing the crystal and the movement from the front to get to the battery. I remember reading something about this in a watch forum. On your trips to the orient I would make friends with a jeweller as I have experienced that the prices in Asian countries for watch repair (even top tier watches) are much cheaper.
