I'm building a small cart to go between my mill and lathe to hold all the small stuff .it's 12x12 x 24. I was gonna put some shelfs and maybe some kind of grid on top for taller stuff to stand up I'm open to any and all ideas how to configure it pics if you got anything similar :) trying to maximize every square inch 20180620_165221.jpg20180620_165241.jpg

I made this to hold small stuff, 6gal milk crates slide out like drawers, it doesn’t roll around , doesn’t need to.

It holds 6 crates, six gallon milk crates are getting hard to find though.

Yea I thought about that doing milk crates but don't have enough space I need it to roll cause I have a bender and some other stuff back thier I was thinking of maybe putting some angle and making some small box's out of sheet metal simaler to the milk crate like yours just smaller and metal

I built a similar shelving unit , only on wheels , it's waiting a small jib crane to be mounted to lift items. I use it to store vises , rotary table . Mill tooling and attachments . Plus my magnet drill on the bottom . Jib crane will be built using an actuator with 375 lbs push or pull , it was to short for my van door closer opener build , so ill use it for a lift on the cart + save my back from more damage. Couldn't get picture to attach but ill try again.

Just had to reply to the photos. When I was in McMurdo, '69 or '70 it was, I acquired a stuffed penguin, an Adelie by appearance. He had a sash that said "Souviner of Antartica". Went all over the world with me. Still in a box in my closet. Had a helmet made out of a burger joint givaway way back when so he could accompany me on the motorcycle.(Guzzi 850) That was long ago, but Ducque (Duck) went with me lots of places. I put him in a box when I got so broke down that I couldn't ride a motorcycle any more. Keep 'im safe from the heat in the deep south........

If your storing stock you might try something like this. My goal was to get my stock organized using what I had in the scrap pile. Some of the angle iron is mismatched but my scrap pile is cleaner than it was. BFHammer, That is a very good and practical way for stock storage. I will be building one very similar, thanks for the pics.
