Small rocketry parts

I use to build model rockets fifty years ago. Estes and I think century was another, built my own launch pad and station. One rocket I built was a sputnik they said it'll never fly. It did and I won a couple awards ,, big deal,, at 10 it was. It was a Styrofoam ball 4" in dia. With four long wood legs ,,matchstick,, fireplace size. Bored center for engine tube it shot well . I enjoyed those years. We even made rocket powered cars do they build them now too.

I've seen a few sputnik style things fly. They tend to do ok if there is enough "stick" hanging down. They act like fins and stabilize it. I saw pictures of one that was a big ball with pool noodles sticking out that air resistance pulled down in flight. Looked crazy but flew well.

There are a few people that do cars. It's against the group safety codes, so you can't really do it at an organized launch.
