Enco 111-3300 1340 Lathe

got it for 1000$ had a real stiff cross slide as in didn't move turned out to be just the mounting bolt for the nut on the lead screw.

Couple places the castings are cracked and one hand wheel is cracked. What is the metal these are made out of Cast Iron ? or is it that Meehanite? Trying to choose which Welding Process for repair.

Will post Pics of areas tonight.

For now here is the Lathe

You might not be able to find parts for that lathe except used. The castings are cast iron. Meehanite is a type of cast iron, I don't think you will find it on this lathe. Repairing cast iron is a art and a skill, takes lots of practice on different parts to get consistently satisfactory results, and no destroyed ones. Different sized and shaped parts require different approaches. I prefer bronze brazing because it is the only technique I have practiced at, gives good results, and does not require special equipment. Keith Fenner, Abom79, and VintageMachinery.org on YouTube have some good videos on cast iron machinery parts repairs.

This is the wheel i want to repair.
