Actually thank you to John and Cal, I went and reexamined my mill and found a slight dimple on the outside of my spindle at location of my tilt. So I took a punch and tapped.... and sure enough, there was a hole with tilt filed almost smooth to outside of spindle. So I was wrong and I learned something new too.
