Hi All,
I bought an old Stuart S50 engine a while ago from a retired machinist.
He built the engine 30 to 40 years ago, so it is from the 70's sometime! ;D
I stripped the whole engine down and removed all the paint.
Polished up the bits of steel, brass and phosphor bronze and gave it a lick of paint.
It came mounted on a large aluminium plate with a large propane fired boiler set up.
Not too sure what the boiler is but it has a Stuart pressure gauge on the side.
I have not yet started to clean the boiler... Not sure if i want to run it on steam or just air and keep it clean!
It also has a displacement lubricator that i still need to polish up and install.
I really like the oil cups that have the threaded tops.
They are quite neat!
I spent a bit of time tonight setting up the eccentric and the slide valve and can get it to run on breath power1
I am quite proud of this achievement!
Her are some pics of the reassembled engine.
Hope you like it!!
Andrew
