For those that have gone down this road before, any suggestions about which PM Research engine would be a good first kit to begin with? Have a lathe, Bridgeport clone and atlas shaper to work with. Thanks for any suggestions

Suggestion for first build

The #2 is a basic oscillating cylinder engine and the #3 is a small horizontal mill engine. I would consider both as entry level. I started with the #5 which is a bit more complex.
Or you could build an engine from bar stock just as well.

I would have to second the recommendation of the #3. It was my first kit engine. I had relatively little experience when I built it and had no real issues understanding the drawings or making the set ups needed.
