Hi all, I have a CI saw table top I am thinking of cutting up for grinder tool rests ,
mabey a carbide grinder table
How would you cut it into sections , I'm thinking vert band saw any better ideas

If it has cast in ribs underneath, I'd try to incorporate them in the individual pieces.

Don't cut it up. Use it as your tool grinder. Just mount a narrow cup stone where the blade was (you'll have tilt, miter gauge, set your motor up as reversable). Really only need to make a selection of covers to go over the hole for various wheel positions.

I have an old Craftsman table saw (cast iron top) - slapped an abrasive disk on it for creative cutting of uni-strut. Worked like a dream.

All I have left is the CI top and blade articulation parts. I'm making somthing out of them.what ?.

Don't touch the machined steel flat top if you have it. It is the poor man's surface plate 'til the real thing comes along.
