If you haven't read my post about my first set of wipers read it here... http://www.hobby-machinist.com/threads/shop-made-way-wipers-for-1340gt.59182/

This set for the tailstock is made the same way. Here are a couple pics....

An added benefit to this style is the forward one acts as a bumper to keep the tailstock from hitting the DRO cover on the cross slide.

Looks like a good addition to your saddle wipers ! :encourage:

Finally, about time somebody put up some pics of a 1340 that looks like it gets used a bit. Even some chips in the bottom & oil & stains too. I don't feel quite so lonely now. Was getting the notion that most were just show pieces from some of the shots I'm used to seeing lately. Might have to try this idea out. Think I still have some felt left from a SB rebuild kit I bought a while back. The projects never end, do they?

Now wait a minute... Mine has chips and oil in the pan, paint chips, stains on the bed and chip pan, various non-critical dings, etc., etc.. Some of this while at it's previous home, some here in it's new home even though it's only been functional for a week.

What, you think you're the only one who uses their lathe? :D
