Tax payer dollars at work ...

......why would you be saving dozens of new V12 Hall Scott engines in 1996.?
Then you have the flip side, why the heck are they getting rid of parts to equipment that they still have tons of?

I do know why they cleared out the navy depot................they were sitting on a billion dollars of harbourside land in Sydneys millionaires row..........politicians are always keen to get their grubby hands on money, and land developers are always generous with gifts to politicians.

In the early to mid 90's, the administration Devastated the Military, and had a garage sale with the depots, and lands. That's how they balanced the budget. Problem was it cost much more to replace what was sold, when we entered the next wars. WE went from 80+ plants producing ammunition before Desert Storm, to 12 on 9-11.

That says nothing about the other warehouses of supplies that were sold off, and needed to be re procured.

California's Tax dollars at ......... busily connecting nowhere to nowhere with 19th century technology. :eek 2:

I did some work at Roosevelt Roads about 5 years ago (demo and remediation of underground fuel tanks) and was amazed at what tooling and infrastructure was left in place. Then again, we see it a lot at many of the other government facilities where we work....completely idle buildings with equipment just sitting in storage.
