Tell your kids it's OK

I think there are chances for folks to star without the benefit of education.

My dad had a grade six education and retired as an engineer.

I met a fellow this week who also had a grade six education and was managing a machine shop.

Atypical for sure but with the right attitude and aptitude I think anything is possible.

My kids are grown but I told them that whatever you chose make sure you'll be able to change with the times if the job can be done remotely it's going overseas , tuff to send a plumbing electric , vehicle repair overseas . Also will you be able to physically do the job when your in your sixties ? Does the job have room for advancement ? My son is 30 and a freight train conductor he should be an engineer within a few years . A conductor job might not be there forever but someone has to hook & unhook during there runs so pretty sure that there's going to be someone on the train . My daughter became a nurse , thats' a job she can do for a long time and if she has kids some day can pretty much pick her hours if she wants .
