I just finished a small prototype job that required very accurate narrow grooves machined into a 7mm diameter brass pin. After shopping around for a long time, I decided to buy a Groove N' Turn toolholder and inserts from Thinbit. The holder was much more money than I've ever spent on a single tool, but after having gotten the job done, it was the right tool and gave me absolutely zero issues.

The holder holds small carbide (and HSS) inserts which have groove widths available from .001 to .125" in .001 increments and are also available custom ground for very little upcharge. The insert repeat to their position in the tool holder within a tenth or two, and the tool offsets for different inserts in the same holder were within .0002" in both directions.

Not being paid to write any of this, but this was the first brand name cutting tool I've ever purchased and I am very pleased with how well it worked. Pretty neat that you can OD turn and groove with the same tool.
