Love Vermont as well as Upstate NY . Just got back from 4 days and nights up in Adirondack Park . Used to ski Killington and the others up in Rutland years back . We had to drive into White River Junction to visit the hospital from skiing the trails at night . ( one of our group broke his leg ) As I remember WRJ , they had a train stop and a smallish motel and that was it , other than the clinic .

Ever been up Little Falls , Dolgeville or Stratford way Buffalo ?

They were calling for snow this week up in my area Mike , it was pretty darn cold up there at night in the mountains !

We did a job in Burlington @ the college quite a few years ago. Airline service was sparse. Had a flight out of LaGuardia on a puddle jumper that sat for hours on the apron. Finally got to Burlington after midnight. There was only one cab/van available for transport and they had to wake him up. Two days later my flight out of Burlington was delayed for 3 hours. But it is still better than having jobs in NY city. Those really suck.
