I found a mill, much better than the last heap. Opinions welcome.

Things I see:
Missing down feed wheel(he might have it)
I don't know what collet
X power feed missing
Brake lever missing
In the video it sounds a little rough, but I'm not sure that it isn't just the camera as you can hear the lights loud as well.
The ways look to be in very good shape, as well as the table.

Opinions on value are appreciated and requested please! No tooling sad.gif

That looks like a nice machine. The ways look good in the picture. The spindle is an Erickson NMTB 30 Quick-Change, my mill has one just like it. Make sure the wrench comes with it, if not, they are available from Kennametal.

Now it just comes down to price. ;)

Given that there is no powerfeed, no tooling, and needs some work, I'm thinking maybe $1500. You might try a lowball offer around $800 and see if he bites, you can always go up. The power feed end is going to require some work just to make it usable. If you don't have 3 phase power you'll need a VFD, so there is about $275, and just a basic set of NMTB 30 end mill holders is around $500. Also consider the cost to move about 3200 lbs of machine.

But then, look at the bright side: nobody painted it blue!

Thanks, that's right what I was thinking. I'm going to drive the 11hrs to look at it before I buy. I have a few extra 3 phase motors to make a rotary phase convertor.

Is that Bridgeport color?

Jim sum it up pretty good. Picked up on the same things I saw. The spindle could be a U-E quick switch spindle, tooling is getting hard to find for it.

Is the UE different that the Erickson mentioned above? Sorry I'm total newb.

Well any nmtb 30 taper tooling fit in the quick changes being discussed?
