Hi all I'm looking for a threading dial to put on my south bend 9" lathe. If anyone has any suggestions on where I could possibly find one for not a kings ransome please let me know. I'm also thinking about modifying or building something. Any ideas?

What is your King's ransom? I find this varies widely from individual to individual.

There's a bunch of them on Ebay right now, but like the man said, be prepared to pay for it. I see you're in Ct, so I think I just saw one on Craigslist here not too long ago.

Take a look at this recent thread.

3D printed threading dial

The recipient has not installed this yet, but I have seen videos where this is working for people.

I'm trying to get to it but my old boss keeps calling me back to work to do some machining for him and it's really cutting into my time getting my lathe up and running. :apologize:

here you go, I made my original gear from aluminum and it is holding up well, but I intend to make one from brass or bronze ( if I ever get back in the shop)
