There was a similar, but more safety related, version that came out in the late '60s - early '70s when motorcycle helmets were being "mandated" by the Feds. Specifically, Z-90.1, which stated the bucket must withstand a 20 MPH impact. I could (and have) exceded that by throwing my bucket from a seated position to a gravel parking lot. Such mandates are just a feel good show by those who institute them.
