Hello everyone so I recently purchased a Van Norman mill 3R-10 and it came with a tool holder in the spindle and I’m trying to see if anyone has any insight as to what this is I think it might use collets of some kind but not sure what here is a few pics of what I got any help would be appreciated I have a bridge port mill and am familiar with the R-8 spindle but have never had any experience with the 50 taper tooling

Looks like a nmtb 50 collet chuck, did it come with any collets?

No I didn’t get any collets and was trying to figure out what collets I would need to look for

Is there an ID of the manufacturer of the collet adaptor? Info as to the diameter of the big end of the taper and the diameter of the straight portion of the inside would be helpful. I have seen several of that type of collet adaptor that take a #21 Brown & Sharpe collet.

So the only markings that I can see on there says
The Cincinnati machine tool company there on the one side and there are some numbers stamped on there also and when I get home from work I can take some measurements from the inside of the bore
Because if I can figure out what collets go in there then all I would have to do is find some collets and that would be easier to change end mills and such out that way Vers taking out the holder itself provided that once I do figure all this out that I can find some collets because I already found and made a deal on a big lot of 50 taper holders and face mills
