I'm looking at a Tree 2vgc. Anybody have any comments, good or bad? I haven't seen one in person but it looks to be a pretty stout mill. Are parts readily available also tooling?

Pete

Havn't run a 2vgc but ran a 2uvr for years with a company I used to work for. I personally have a 2uv (predecessor of the 2uvr) and it's old but works great. I've had good luck with the Tree mills.

Hi Pete, We have a 2VGC, very nice machine. Very heavily & solidly built, ours has power feed & rapids on all 3 axis's (sp ?). The collets are a little fussy to get set (ZZ style), but once set it is very easy & fast to switch tools as long as they are the same diameter. I get the idea that a fair number of Tree mills sat unused because they had tools or collets spun in the spindle or nobody bothered to figure out how to adjust the collets. Regards, Earl
